This vihuela maker is known only by virtue of the inventory of his wife María Alvarez dating from 1556. According to Schöner (schonerV, 114) published in 1999, Luis Alonso is also listed in the card index of the Archivo Historical Provincial in Valladolid as an itinerant vihuela maker at court, a “violero andante en la corte de S.M.”
