The chanson appears to have been published for the first time in 1529 in Attaingnant’s Quarant et deux chansons (Paris) [RISM 1529/4. It was reprinted in several later anthologies until 1578. The 1553 reprint by Le Roy and Ballard [1533/22, edited in C. Adams, French Chansons for Three Voices (ca. 1550) part 2, RRMR vol 37 (Madison, WI, 1982) pp. 66-67] attributed to Guillaume Le Heurteur] 1578/14 attributes it to Claudin de Sermisy, other sources to Pierre Moulu (c. 1484-c.1550). I-Fn Magl.XIX.117 has attrib. 'to Do Izagha' (Heinrich Isaac?)”
