Short parody (112 compases) on a Magnificat verse, model unidentified. Valderrabano calls it “de contrapunto”. Certainly more motivic and quasi-imitative than many of his other fantasias.
Has perhaps more cadential orientation than others, and modulates to areas not typical of mode 8 e.g. a m at 72. Begins with rather loosely resembled versions of theme 1 imitated broadly.
Proceeds in search of tonic until found at 25, then theme 2 is twice stated. At 40, 3 is imitated in canon and then suelto twice in top voice. Thereafter music flows freely from K to K. A semblance of 2 is given at 85 ff and frequent motive in Valderrabano’s music appears at 91 = theme 4 >> free to end.
