Parody fantasia of the above model. 198 compases – long tabla: Fantasia en el tercero grado remedando a algunos pasos de la misa de Josquin de Ave maris stella.
Ward’s investigation reveals 129-131 & 153-162 to be base on semibreves 1-9 of the Kyrie Postrero, and acknowledges that Valderrabano only says “algunos pasos” and “de cierta parte de la misa”.
Theme 4 (130 ff) extends the Kyrie Postrero quote.
Textures make work hang together. Lyrical. Rhythmic imitation in free polyphony is quite important – answers to questions. Variety of textures.
