Libro 3. Schmidt-Görg, Gombert, 369 • Heartz Attaingnant 292 • Schöner (1999) 208. Narváez would not have had access to the 1537 reprint at the time of preparing his vihuela book.
Discussed in Bevilacqua 2004 thesis (beviN), 96-101
There has been some discussion of possible authorship by Crecquillon. New Grove 2, s.v. “Gombert, Nicolas: Works, Chansons,” by George Nugent and Eric Jas.
Fink: Narváez’s treatment is a straight-forward intabulation with melodies modified slightly, harmonic voicings often simplified, and a slight truncation toward the end (74 measures into 64)
