One of the first modern performances of this piece is possibly in the “concierto histórico” by P. Luis Villalba given in El Escorial in 1910 and reported in ABC on 16 August 1910, p. 10, that included “tres cantgas de Alfonso el Sabio, un villancico de Juan del Encina, un romance morisco del siglo XV, las coplas de Manrique, con música de Mudarra; un madrigal de Gutiérrez de Cetina, unas folias de autor anónimo, un minué de José Nebra y un rondó del quinteto número de Antonio Soler.” An earlier performance with other works took place at the Ateneo de Madrid on 16 March 1887 (See Rey, Morphy, part 2.)
